Project Value: £0.75m
Client Name: East Lancashire PCT

This project involved the extension and full refurbishment of an existing health centre complete with associated external works and drainage.
The objective was for the end user to have a clinic which had been extended and refurbished to suit its functionality requirements but which complied with all the relevant NHS clinical standards and guidelines to the satisfaction of the local NHS trust.
The clinic was delivered on budget and on time, allowing for extensions of time given for Employer Relevant Events.
The clinic met the NHS clinical standards and guidelines so that the Trust were satisfied.
Key issues included:
- Glovers had to prepare a BQ from Stage C information whilst the project was still being designed. This required a high degree of collaboration with the Architect to achieve.
- The clinic had to comply with NHS clinical standards and guidance which was subject to change during the life of the project. These changes became apparent after the contract was awarded and therefore had to be accommodated into cost and programme.
- It was discovered part way through the project that the roof would require replacing. It was therefore necessary for Glovers to identify cost savings elsewhere so that the project could still be completed for the original budget.
